Janvier 2012

Real-life conditions test of UFOCATCH® V2

juin 7th, 2012

A film crew joined us on the field for shooting our real conditions tests of our UFOCATCH® detection systems.

[media id=38 width=640 height=432]

Small fix :
Some discussions at the end of the movie may seem to be a little bit scrappy. It is obvious that spectrum analysis surely allows getting phenomenon characteristics, but in no way, the analysis itself would allow asserting that the phenomenon is extraterrestrial; it could be simply due to unknown naturel phenomenon as well.

Design and test of control interfaces

March 12th, 2012

In order to be able to deploy this type of stations on distant locations with no connection to the electrical network, we designed a portable video control system. It can be easily set up in a car trunk and allows to simultaneously controlling – either automatically or manually – two detection stations placed on the car roof. Read here the detailled system.

Cheap allsky system with used part S.A.D.E.P.A.N System

January, 2012

Here is a video realised in 2008 in relation to our project S.A.D.E.P.A.N (Station Automatique de Détection et d’Enregistrement de Phénomènes Aérospatiaux Non-identifiés; Automatic detection and recording system of aerospace events), explaining how to realise a system Allsky at low cost.

Handheld catch of geolocalized spectral sight

September 6th, 2011

Coupling a diffraction grating cap to a mobile phone running a geolocalized imaging software in augmented reality is the perfect tool to capture usable pictures of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena. We have tested with a great interest a software for IPhone and IPad called THEODOLITE.
As spectrum pictures acquisition is already a well mastered technique, we focused our attention to functionnalities brought by such a software, and more especially geolocation and triangulation data.

UFOCATCH® V2

July 24th, 2011

Taking advantage of the summer period and while waiting for new parts and harware for the next MHD experiments, we continue developing the UFOCatch® in parallel.

The second version, UFOCatch®v2, is much more impressive by it size, but also much more flexible than the first version (cf pictures).

A multi-devices mounting adaptor now allows the integration of a telescope equiped with a camera, a camcorder, a high sensitivity camera dedicated to spectroscopy. Up to 6 different imaging devices can be mounted – depending on their size.

Primarilly intended for fieldworks, it is equiped with handles to ease transportation and designed to face harsh weather conditions (a protective dome can be added). Its weigth provides a good stability during accelaration movements.

UFOCATCH® : Work in progress

January 3th, 2010

We receive a lot of demand for the Advancement of Ufocatch. As we start year is the opportunity to make a point of it (see the dedicated page for more information on work in progress).
